Karnataka's Agricultural Production Increases: Economic Survey 2024-25
★ According to the survey, Karnataka produced 5.71 million tonnes of maize, surpassing Bihar's 5.63 million tonnes and Madhya Pradesh's 4.34 million tonnes.
★ Karnataka holds a 15.16% share in the total maize production of the country.
★ The state's pigeon pea (tur) production was 1.02 million tonnes, which accounts for 30% of India's total, with Maharashtra producing 0.89 million tonnes and Uttar Pradesh 0.4 million tonnes.
★ Karnataka also saw a good yield of sunflower seeds.
★ In coarse grains, Karnataka ranks second in the country, with Rajasthan leading at 8.09 million tonnes. Karnataka's production stands at 7.79 million tonnes, while Madhya Pradesh produced 5.84 million tonnes.
