International Soya Market
Export inspection data showed that 324,101 metric tons (11.91 million bushels) of soybeans were shipped during the week ending May 1. This represents a 29.2% drop from the previous week and is 9.5% lower than the same week last year. Mexico was the largest destination with 81,888 MT, followed by China with 68,099 MT and Japan with 58,091 MT.
Since September 1, total marketing year exports have reached 43.46 million metric tons (1.597 billion bushels), which is 11.2% higher than the same period last year.
According to USDA, soybean planting was 30% complete as of Sunday (May 4), ahead of the 23% average and 24% from the same date last year. Crop emergence was reported at 7%, which is 2 percentage points faster than average.
