Indonesia Palm Oil Exports May 2025: Massive Surge in Indian Imports – Source: Intertek
★ Indonesia witnessed a sharp surge in palm oil exports in May 2025, with India emerging as the key driver behind the growth.
★ India imported 586,611 tonnes of palm oil in May 2025, a massive 141.2% increase compared to 243,141 tonnes in April. This indicates a strong and rising demand for palm oil in the Indian market.

Performance by Key Product Types:
Crude Palm Oil (CPO):
★ Exports stood at 200,061 tonnes in May, up 330% from 46,501 tonnes in April.
RBD Palm Olein:
★ May exports reached 818,077 tonnes, marking a 50.2% rise from the previous month.
RBD Palm Oil:
★ Saw a 31.4% increase, with 359,757 tonnes exported in May.

★ China: 312,070 tonnes exported in May, up 14.9% from April.
★ European Union: Exports rose 13.8% to 300,957 tonnes in May.

Reduced import duties and falling international prices have not only increased imports from Indonesia but also boosted palm oil inflow from Malaysia.
