The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has estimated the production area of ​​gram to increase to 5.61 lakh acres during the current year, which is 12 percent more than the sowing area of ​​last year. Under this, USDA has expressed the possibility of sowing of Desi gram in 1.25 lakh acres and Kabuli gram in 4.36 lakh acres in the year 2025.

According to the report of USDA, during the year 2025, as compared to the year 2024, the lentil production area in America is estimated to increase from 7.20 lakh acres to 8.20 lakh acres in Montana,

from 1.65 lakh acres to 2.25 lakh acres in North Dakota and from 51 thousand acres to 55 thousand acres in Washington state, while at the national level,

the total area of ​​lentil can increase from 9.36 lakh acres to 11.00 lakh acres. Earlier, in the year 2023, lentil cultivation was done in 5.45 lakh acres of land.
