CBOT Soybean Prices Remain Firm; Market Declined Yesterday
★ According to the USDA, during the week ending March 5, the U.S. recorded export sales of 456,000 tons of old-crop soybeans and 9,518 tons of new-crop soybeans. This was 34% lower than the same period last year. Indonesia purchased the largest quantity at 200,000 tons, followed by Mexico with 130,000 tons, and Egypt with 107,000 tons. Export sales also included 166,000 tons of soybean meal and 2,835 tons of soybean oil.
★ According to the Census report, in January 2026 the U.S. exported 5.821 million tons of soybeans, a record 1.678 million tons of soybean meal, and 77,396 tons of soybean oil.
★ Ongoing global conflicts have impacted crude oil prices, while export costs are also rising. This has affected not only soybean oil, but also palm oil and sunflower oil prices. Mustard oil has also been influenced by this trend.
★ As global conflicts intensify, the import cost of edible oils is likely to increase further, which will also have an impact on India.
