Pea Market Eases Slightly
★ The international pea market ended the week on a generally softer note.
★ Although Canada’s official export data has yet to be released, the Canadian Grain Commission’s bulk loading report indicates a notable decline in export movement.
★ By the end of October, total bulk loadings of peas for export reached 865,300 metric tons (MT), compared to 1,053,700 MT during the same period last year. According to the data, around 239,400 MT of peas were loaded for export in October, down from 527,000 MT in September and 370,300 MT in October last year.

Lentil Market Steady
★ Lentil markets remained mostly stable this week. Exporters and processors are currently focused on fulfilling short-term shipping commitments.
★ Export prices for green lentils were largely steady, while red lentils showed slight gains. Large green lentils continue to command a premium over red lentils, but the premium for small greens has disappeared since the start of the marketing year.

Kabuli Chickpea Market Steady
★ Global chickpea markets ended the week steady amid regular seasonal trading activity.
★ According to the September report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), chickpea production in the United States is estimated at 363,100 metric tons (MT), up from about 258,300 MT last year and the previous five-year average of 189,300 MT.
