ICE cotton futures remained weak on Thursday, posting losses of 28 to 40 points during the session. Crude oil futures rose 10 cents to $58.59 per barrel, while the US Dollar Index dropped 0.304 points to 99.070.
After more than a month of delay, export sales data for the week of September 25 showed cotton sales of 155,414 RB, with shipments totaling 117,595 RB.
In Wednesday’s online auction by The Seam, 2,310 bales were sold at an average price of 60.62 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index fell 40 points on November 12 to 75.40 cents. ICE-certified cotton stocks rose by 1,000 bales on November 11 to 18,239 bales. This week’s Adjusted World Price, released for the first time since the shutdown, was 51.83 cents per pound.
